NEW ORLEANS – A local real estate developer is being sued by a construction company alleging it is owed several thousand dollars for work performed on the construction and renovation of lofts project in New Orleans.
Gibbs Construction LLC filed a lawsuit against National Rice Mill LLC in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 21.
The plaintiff claims that the defendant owes a grand total of $743,561 for construction work performed under contract. Gibbs further asserts that Rice Mill has refused to promptly pay the amount due under contract plus the amounts due for further work performed in the course of the construction and renovation process.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
The plaintiff is seeking the aforementioned amount plus a bonus due to Gibbs, along with all legal costs.
