Winn dixie

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is suing a local grocery chain for damages after allegedly falling on the store's premises.

Dolores A. Baer filed a lawsuit against Winn-Dixie Montgomery LLC in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Feb. 7.

Baer claims she slipped and fell on the floor while exiting the flower department of the defendant’s store and sustained serious bodily injury.

The defendant is accused of failing to exercise reasonable care to keep the aisles, passageways, and floors of the premises in a reasonably safe condition, failing to keep the premises hazard free, failure to warn patrons of the unsafe condition and exposing invitees to unreasonable risks of harm and injury.

The plaintiff is seeking recompense for the disabling injuries to her right knee, neck, back and hip, medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life.

Baer is represented by attorney Michael J. Laughlin of Metairie.

This case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.

Case no. 2013-01220.
