NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing a locksmith company on the grounds that one of its employees unlocked her business, resulting in the loss of personal property.
Lacie Brock Robinson filed a lawsuit against Pop-A-Lock Corporation, Sig 5 Corporation, United Fire Group and United Fire and Casualty Company in the Orleans Parish Central District Court.
Robinson claims that the defendants unlocked her business’s building to a host of strangers which resulted in the plaintiff’s loss of personal property. She claims she has had several panic attacks as a result of the unlawful entry and a constant fear of future attacks at her place of business.
The defendant is accused of failing to exercise reasonable care, failing to properly supervise and train employees and causing an unreasonably dangerous condition to exist.
An unspecified amount is sought for the plaintiff’s phobia of unlawful intrusion into her business establishment, medical expenses incurred for the panic attacks, loss of happiness, emotional distress and attorney's fees.
Counsel for the plaintiff is attorney Pius A. Obioha of New Orleans.
This case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
Case no. 2013-01472.
