NEW ORLEANS – An East Baton Rouge Parish woman is suing the owners and operators of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome after she supposedly sustained injuries after falling on escalator on the premises.
Daneen M. Givens filed a lawsuit against the Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, SMG Corp., American Capital Strategies LTD and Alan Freeman in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Feb. 19.
Givens claims that while attempting to walk down the escalator at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium she slipped and fell on liquid and sustained injuries to her head, nose and both shins.
The defendant is accused of creating, allowing, and failing to maintain a dangerous condition on its premises and failing to warn patrons of the existing hazard.
An unspecified amount is sought for the plaintiff’s physical injuries, medical expenses, pain and suffering and mental anguish.
J. Jacob Goehring of Metairie-based the Schwartz Law Firm LLC will represent the plaintiffs at trial.
This case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
