Hertz Texaco Center on Poydras sued by pedestrian

NEW ORLEANS –A Jefferson Parish woman is suing the owners and operators of a local gas station for injuries she claims to have received in a slip and fall.

Julie A. Alexie filed a lawsuit against Hertz Texaco Center LLC, The Hertz Investment Groups Inc., Hertz Investment Group LLC and The Charter Oak Fire Insurance Company.

Alexie claims that while walking through the front door of the defendant’s building located on Poydras Street she slipped and fell violently on an inherently slippery surface.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain a reasonably safe place for visitors, failing to take necessary measures to protect the safety of visitors, failing to warn visitors and failing to take steps to avoid the incident.

Plaintiff is seeking to recover damages for severe and disabling injury, mental pain and suffering, property damages, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and loss of consortium.

This case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
