The Laurel Group allegedly lacked clear title to property it sold

Breach of contract

NEW ORLEANS – A local property holding company is accused of selling two lots to a home builder falsely claiming it had the clear title to complete the sale.

Terry Tedesco Homebuilders LLC filed a lawsuit against The Laurel Group LLC and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on March 8.

The plaintiff claims it has incurred financial loss and expenses in seeking to clear the title to two properties located on Chestnut Street in New Orleans sold to them by the defendant which warranted, but did not deliver, a clear title as promised under contract of the cash sale of the property.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and breach of warranty of clear title.

Counsel for the plaintiff is attorney Jeffrey Grannan of New Orleans.

This case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.

Case no. 2013-02354.
