NEW ORLEANS – A woman who was allegedly injured while shopping at the discount retailer in Marrero has filed suit.
Laura L. Ouldabdallahiouldkerimbany filed suit against Family Dollar Stores of Bogalusa LA Inc and/or Family Dollar Stores Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 28.
The suit states that on May 22, the plaintiff was shopping at the Family Dollar Store in Marrero when she slipped on clothing left in disarray on the aisle, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain serious injuries.
The defendants are accused of failing to warn, failing to properly inspect and maintain the area in question, failing to warn of inherent dangers, failing to do what was necessary to keep the aisle clean, and being otherwise negligent.
The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and anguish, physical disability, physical disfigurement, scarring, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of wages and loss of earning capacity.
