NEW ORLEANS – A customer is suing for injuries she allegedly received in a slip and fall at Rouse’s Market in Algiers.
Anna Lee Batiste filed suit against Rouse’s Enterprises LLC, Rouse’s Enterprises Inc., Rouse’s Enterprises LLC, Rouse’s Markets and its insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
The suit states that on Aug. 30, 2012, the plaintiff was shopping at Rouse's Market in Algiers when she slipped and fell on the wet floor in the store, causing her painful, extensive and permanent injuries.
The defendant is accused of failing to warn, allowing a hazardous condition to exist on its premises, failing to exercise reasonable care, and creating an unreasonable risk of harm that was reasonably foreseeable.
The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount of damages for disabling physical injuries, medical expenses, residual disability, loss of enjoyment and loss of quality of life.
The plaintiff is represented by Alfred C. Barrera of Alfred C. Barrera & Associates LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
