GRETNA – A Harvey homeowner is suing a roofing and siding company claiming it misled him about the type of work and materials to be used to repair his hail damaged home.
Jessie Reynolds filed suit against Progressive Roofing LLC and Chris Matise in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 6.
Reynolds asserts he contracted Progressive to perform roofing and siding work on his Harvey home due to hail damage. The plaintiff claims the defendant would replace all plumbing vents and metal roofing jacks and provide a 10-year warranty on the work performed on his home. Reynolds alleges the contract called for 24-gauge roofing to be used.
Before the work began the plaintiff asserts he put a $13,000 deposit down on the project. Reynolds claims that the workers who appeared at his home did not represent themselves as working for Progressive and that during the repairs they damaged his personal property, which they refused to repair and replace, and that they were involved in several instances of poor worksmanship. In addition, the plaintiff alleges that Progressive intentionally ordered a cheaper, lower quality roofing type than stipulated in the contract.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract, conversion, unjust enrichment and violation of Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.
An unspecified amount is sought for punitive damages, attorney’s fees and court costs.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
