GRETNA – A construction company is suing a couple they claim contracted with them for work done on one of their homes, but refused to pay the full price for the work completed.
Poydras Construction Company Inc. filed suit against Diane S. Leblanc and William Belsome in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 2.
Poydras Construction Company alleges that it entered into a contract to remodel Leblanc’s home located at 6708 Cummins St. in Metairie so that Belsome could move in with her. The plaintiff asserts that it completed the contract and were paid $140,000, but are still owed $18,270.37 by the defendants. Poydras Construction Company claims that all work was done according to an oral contract between them and Leblanc and Belsome and that all amounts should have been paid.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $18,270.37, plus lien fees, attorney’s fees and judicial costs are sought by the plaintiff.
Poydras Construction Company is represented by Lawrence R. Demarcay III of New Orleans-based Fowler Rodriguez.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
