GRETNA – A New Orleans area attorney is suing a local airport parking shuttle service for injuries he claims to have received when two strollers fell on him as he was riding to the airport.
Daniel E. Becnel Jr. filed suit against Ennis Inc., USPARK.NET and Mike Young in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 27.
Becnel claims that on Dec. 3, 2013 he was riding the USPark shuttle from its parking lot to the Louis Armstrong International airport when the shuttle picked up a party of four adults and two children. The plaintiff alleges that Young, the shuttle driver, put strollers on both the first and second shelf of the luggage rack. Becnel asserts that as the shuttle turned while on its way to the airport both of the strollers fell off the shelf and struck him in the right knee and shoulder.
The plaintiff claims he received serious and disabling injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of breach of legally imposed duty of reasonable care, failing to maintain control of vehicle, operating vehicle in a careless and inattentive manner, failing to properly maintain the vehicle and traveling at an unsafe rate of speed under the existing conditions.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, shock, fear and loss of enjoyment of life.
Becnel is represented by Kevin Klibert of Reserve-based Becnel Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
