GRETNA – A number of energy production supply companies are being sued by a local worker who claims he was injured when a pipe fell off a forklift and landed on his foot.
Yancy J. Landry filed suit against Energy Logistics Inc., Liberty Servies Inc., Aoache Corporation of Delware – Gulf Coast Onshore Region in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 4.
Landry alleges that he transported a shipment to the Energy Logistics Inc. dock located at 289-331 McDermott Road in Venice when a forklift operator unstrapped a jack a knocked a pipe onto his foot. The plaintiff asserts that due to the incident he sought treatment at an emergency room for injuries to his right foot. Landry claims that his injuries are due to the defendants’ failure to provide competent workers and equipment to unload his truck.
The defendant is accused of failing to follow safety procedures, failing to observe plaintiff’s whereabouts, failing to provide a safe place to work and failing to discharge obligation under the state law.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, loss of life’s pleasures, loss of enjoyment, permanent disabilities and loss of future earnings and earning capacity.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
