GRETNA – A grocery store chain is being sued by a woman who was allegedly injured in a fall in the beverage aisle.
Sabrina Dabadi filed suit against Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. and Winn-Dixie Store Leasing LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 23.
Dabadi asserts that she was walking in the Winn-Dixie located on Westbank Expressway in Marrero when she slipped and fell in light blue liquid on the floor she believes was Gatorade. The plaintiff alleges she suffered several injuries in the fall that have required medical treatment.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the floor surface, failing to safeguard the premises, failing to warn business invitees of the liquid on the floor, failing to discover dangerous conditions and failing to inspect the premises for dangerous conditions.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, discomfort, mental anguish, aggravation, annoyance, disability, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of use of function of body parts, bodily disability and impairment of psychological functioning.
