GRETNA – A local casino is being sued by a customer who claims she received disabling injuries in a fall in their parking lot.
Joyce Rigby filed suit against Boomtown LLC of Delaware, Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. of Delaware, Louisiana A-1 Gaming in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 7.
Rigby claims that on Feb. 12, 2013 she was a customer at the Boomtown Casino New Orleans located at 4132 Peters Road in Harvey and was walking in a handicapped parking area when she fell to the pavement due to a defect in the concrete. The plaintiff asserts she received disabling injuries and scarring in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises, crating a dangerous condition, maintaining a defect, permitting an unreasonably dangerous condition, failing to warn elderly and handicapped customers of the hazard, failing to adequately inspect the area and failing to discover the danger.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disability, permanent scarring, disfigurement, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of services and loss of society.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
