GRETNA – A local financial services company is suing a customer whom it lent $32,000 for a car that was repossessed because of default and sold at auction.
Prestige Financial Services Inc. filed suit against Louis I. Alimonda Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 13.
Prestige Financial Services Inc. claims that on May 4, 2012 it entered into a contract with Louis I. Alimonda Inc. for a vehicle purchase. The plaintiff alleges the defendant borrowed $32,189.76 before defaulting in 2013 and turned the car back over, which in turn was sold at auction. Prestige Financial Services Inc. asserts that after credits from the auction were figured into the debt Louis I. Alimonda Inc. still owes $8,199.58.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $8,199.58, plus interest and attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiff.
Prestige Financial Services Inc. is represented by attorney Edward J. Bourdeau of Lafayette.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
