Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro sued by man over trip and fall in parking lot

GRETNA – A man who claims he was injured in a trip and fall over metal drainage pipes in a local restaurant’s parking lot is suing.

Frank Wyman filed suit against Thomas Jefferson Construction Corporation, Best Western Westbank, Best Western Plus Westbank, Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro LLC and Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro International LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 21.

Wyman claims that he was walking through the parking lot of Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro located at 1700 LaPalco Blvd. in Harvey when he tripped over metal drainage pipes and a drain cover and fell to the ground. The plaintiff alleges he was seriously injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the property in a reasonably safe condition.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures and abilities, medical expenses and wage loss.

Wyman is representing himself pro se in the case.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
