GRETNA – A local discount retailer is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured in a slip and fall on clothing that was left in disarray in an aisle where she was walking.
Laura L. Ouldabdallahiouldkerimbany filed suit against Family Dollar Stores of Bogalusa LA Inc. and Family Dollar Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 24.
Ouldabdallahiouldkerimbany claims that she was shopping at the Family Dollar store located at 5949 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero when she was walking down an aisle and slipped and fell on clothing that had been left in disarray on the floor. The plaintiff alleges that the aisle had been left in an unreasonably dangerous condition by the defendant resulting in her fall.
The defendant is accused of failing to give warning of a dangerous condition, failing to properly inspect and maintain the area, failing to warn of the inherent danger, failing to keep the aisle clean, failing to provide a safe service are for customers, failing to properly supervise employees and allowing a hazard to exist.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and anguish, physical disability, physical disfigurement and scarring, loss of enjoyment of life, future loss of wages and loss of earning capacity.
