Prospective proper buyer sues owners who allegedly pulled out of real estate deal

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A man who claims the owners of a piece of property breached a contract when they backed out of a real estate deal is suing.

Christopher Guillot filed suit against Charles R. Baquet III, Glen M. Baquet and Linda R. Baquet in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 4.

Guillot asserts that on March 15, 2013 he offered to buy a piece of property owned by the defendants located at 1121 North Galvez St. in New Orleans. The plaintiff claims that an offer he made on the property was accepted on April 15, 2013 and letters were signed by all three defendants stating such. Guillot alleges that he granted repeated extensions to the closing date on the property, but the defendants have been either unable or unwilling to sell him the property.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff requests the defendants be cited and an unspecified amount in damages for attorney’s fees, expert fees, court costs and interest.

Guillot is represented by Ronald J. White of New Orleans-based Murphy, Rogers, Sloss & Gambel.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

Case no. 737-154.
