NEW ORLEANS- A New Orleans hotel property owner has filed suit against one of its business tenants in order to force the tenant to vacate the premises.
Supreme Bright New Orleans filed suit against Lost Dog Saloon in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 2.
Supreme Bright claims it acquired a property formally known as Cotton Exchange Hotel, which had previously leased space in the hotel to a bar that was owned and operated by Lost Dog Saloon.
When Supreme Bright acquired the hotel property, it allegedly purchased it free of any prior leases, privileges or any other encumbrances. Supreme Bright allegedly notified Lost Dog Saloon that it would no longer continue to lease space in the hotel, and asked Lost Dog Saloon to vacate the premises by April 30. Supreme Bright alleges that on May 1 Lost Dog Saloon had not vacated the premises, and now wishes for the court to assist in evicting the defendant.
The defendant is accused of failing to vacate the premises owned by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff is seeking a warrant of eviction commanding the Sheriff of Orleans Parish to eject Lost Dog Saloon from the property.
