NEW ORLEANS – A patient has filed suit against her former dentist over the placement of a crown.
Linda Blazio filed suit against Gordon E. Fletcher DDS & The Continental Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 12.
The plaintiff asserts that the defendant improperly placed a crown on her tooth, and subsequently improperly diagnosed the plaintiff's discomfort with the crown. The plaintiff purports to have complained to the defendant numerous times over an extended period of time about her pain, but the defendant continued to make improper diagnoses of the misplaced crown. The plaintiff alleges that the improper placement and improper diagnoses contributed to her continued pain and suffering until she was able to receive proper care from a second dentist.
The defendant is accused of improper diagnoses, improper installing of the crown, failing to diagnose the improper placement of the crown and failing to remove the improper crown and properly install a new crown.
The plaintiff is seeking an unknown amount in damages for her pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of her life and all medical expenses relevant to this matter.
Linda Blazio is represented by M. Suzanne Montero from the Law Offices of W.A. “Chip” Forstall Jr. in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Lloyd J. Medley.
