Man sues over injuries alleged in fall down stairs

GRETNA – A visitor to an apartment building is suing after he was allegedly injured in a fall down a set of stairs.

Kevin Green filed suit against Marion Giuffria in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 21.

Green claims he was invited to an aparment at 832 Martin Beherman Ave. in Metairie and that while he was there he fell down a set of stairs due to a missing piece of wood in the structure. The plaintiff asserts he received severe mental and physical injuries due to the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises, failing to inspect the premises, failing to provide a safe place to visit, failing to set up adequate inspection and maintenance of the premises and failing to warn of a dangerous situation.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, humiliation, embarrassment, inconvenience, lost wages and loss of earning capacity.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
