GRETNA – The parents of a former private high school student are suing for the release of his comprehensive academic records and disciplinary file.
Kim and Paul Roberts, individually and on behalf of their minor child, have filed suit against Christian Schools Inc., John Curtis Christian School and John Curtis High School in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 23.
The Robertses contend their son attended John Curtis High School until they withdrew his enrollment in October 2013. The plaintiffs assert they requested their son’s full academic files upon his withdrawal from the school including his medical file, discipline records, attendance records, subjects taken and associated grades, intelligence tests, certificates awarded and notes on any investigations. They claim that despite two written requests John Curtis High School has failed to provide the requested records.
The plaintiffs are asking the court to forward to them the requested documents.
The Roberts are represented by W. Chad Stelly of Rome, Arata, Baxley & Stelly LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
Case no. 740-585.
