Shoring company slaps homeowner with suit seeking $18K

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A Marrero homeowner is facing a lawsuit from a contractor who claims she has not paid a more than $18,000 bill for lifting her home.

Orleans Shoring filed suit against Sandra Harris Sept. 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the suit, Orleans Shoring entered into a contract with Harris to elevate her home on Robinson Avenue in Marrero. The plaintiff company alleges it performed the home elevation, but Harris has not paid the full amount in breach of their contract.

Orleans Shoring contends Harris still owes it $18,432.15 for which it has placed a lien against her home.

It is seeking that amount, as well as attorney’s fees, and is being represented by attorney Jason Wade of Harahan.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

Case no. 741-951.
