Apartment building owners sued by tenant who alleges she was injured in fall through floor

GRETNA – A tenant who claims she was injured when the floor of her apartment collapsed beneath her is suing.

Zaneta Williams filed suit against Scottsdale Insurance Company and Green Oaks Associates Ltd. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 10.

Williams contends that on March 5 she was a renter at Green Oaks Apartments. She claims she was cleaning her bathtub and walking toward her shower when her foot fell through the floor to her calf and she fell over into the bathtub. The plaintiff asserts that she was injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of deterioration and weakening of the bathroom floor, negligent repair of bathroom floor, failing to have proper flooring and other defects.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical treatment, pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages and loss of earning capacity.

Williams is represented by Dominick F. Impastato III of New Orleans-based Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
