GRETNA – An inflatable rentals company is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after flying off the end of a waterside and onto nearby pavement.
Sandra Ann Scherberger filed suit against Armand Bounce & Waterslide Rentals LLC and Markel Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 11.
Scherberger alleges that on May 24 she was a guest at a party located at a home at 5921 Loraine St. in Metairie where a 17 foot tall inflatable waterslide was in place that had been rented from Armand Bounce & Waterslide Rentals. The plaintiff contends that at the bottom of the slide there was a three foot drop to the ground and that she was seriously injured after she slid off the drop off and onto pavement.
The defendant is accused of improper design and failing to warn participants of inherent danger.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
