GRETNA – A local contractor is being sued by a pair of telephone companies who claims their utilities were damaged during excavation work.
Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC and AT&T Louisiana filed suit against Aardvark Contractors Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 22.
Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC and AT&T Louisiana contend that Aardvark Contractors Inc. engaged in excavation operations near their utilities without first providing 120 hours notice. The plaintiffs assert that during ensuing excavation the defendant damaged their property.
The defendants are accused of property damage.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for cost of repairs and attorney’s fees.
Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC and AT&T Louisiana are represented by Michael B. Alker of Mandeville-based Sutton, Alker & Rather LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.
