Contractor sued for $27K by commercial rental company

GRETNA – A commercial rental company is suing a local contractor for allegedly not paying for equipment he and his company rented from them on credit.

United Rentals (North America) Inc. filed suit against Michel’s Construction LLC and David M. Michel in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 5.

United Rentals alleges that on March 2, 2011 Michel applied to them for credit and afterward rented equipment. However, the plaintiff contends Michel never paid for the rented equipment.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $27,366.23 plus late charges and attunes fees is sought by the plaintiff.

United Rentals is represented by Richard B. Levin of Metairie-based Levin Law Offices.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

Case no. 744-064.
