Roofing company sues over $17K owed from hail damage repair to business

GRETNA – A roofing company is suing a local business for breach of contract after it allegedly completed the repair of a hail damaged building, but were not fully paid for services rendered.

Justice Labit and JC’s Roofing and Siding filed suit against Lil Swoles LLC, Wilber J. Chiasson Jr., Chiasson Drain Cleaning and Wilber J. Chiasson Jr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 5.

Labit and JC’s Roofing and Siding assert that on April 8, 2013 they entered in a contract with the defendants to work on a buoying located at 13 Gladiola Court in Marrero to repair damage caused by a hailstorm. The plaintiffs claim they completed the work on July 3, 2013 and were provided with a partial payment on $9,012.14. However, Labit and JC’s Roofing and Siding allege they are still owed $17,028.07 under the contract.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of$17,028.07 is sought by the plaintiffs.

Labit and JC’s Roofing and Siding is represented by J. Benjamin Avin of New Orleans-based Irpino Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.

Case no. 743-986.
