GRETNA – A local grocery store is being sued by a customer who claims she was injured in a slip and fall on its premises.

Lizzie Aaron filed suit against P.A.F. Inc., Piggly Wiggly and First Financial Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 10.

Aaron contends that on Nov. 11, 2013 she was shopping at the Piggly Wiggly located at 909 Westbank Expressway in Westwego when she slipped and fell on a clear substance on the sales floor area. The plaintiff asserts she was injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly inspect and warn of the danger, failing to timely inspect and clean up the area, failing to warn of a defect, failing to safely maintain the area, creating and maintaining a defect, allowing a danger to exist and failing to properly train employees.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage to person, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.

Aaron is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.

Case no. 744-183.
