GRETNA – A personal loan provider is suing a client for failure to repay.

Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. filed suit against Ernest Gill in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 15.

Springleaf claims on July 18, 2014 it provided Gill with a $3,908.88 loan payable in monthly installments of $147 over a four year period. The plaintiff alleges it has not received a payment on the loan from the defendant since October 2014. Springleaf contends it has attempted to contact Gill to collect on the loan, but he has not responded and still owes a balance of $4,514.09.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $4,514.09 plus attorney’s fees and legal costs are sought by the plaintiff.

Springleaf is represented by Tony Dooley of New Orleans-based The Dooley Law Office.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

Case no. 745-870.
