GRETNA – A personal finance company is sung a local doctor who allegedly defaulted on his loan payment after a nine year repayment period.
Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. filed suit against Dr. Augustine Aruna in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 12.
The plaintiff alleges on Aug. 21, 2006 they provided a personal loan to Aruna in the amount of $35,000 that was to be repaid in monthly payments. Springleaf contends that on Dec. 15, 2014 the defendant was to make a payment on the loan, but failed to do so. The plaintiff asserts Aruna still owes $9,998.09 them on the loan that has an interest rate of 12.99 percent.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $9,998.09 is sought by the plaintiff.
