GRETNA – A resident of a local condo is suing after she was allegedly injured after slipping and falling on a freshly painted set of stairs.
Jennifer Pye filed suit against Pasadena Heights Condominium Association Inc., Wilshire Insurance Company and Travelers Casualty & Surety Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 25.
Pye alleges she was a resident of Pasadena Heights Condominium Association Inc. located at 2513 Pasadena Ave. in Metairie on Feb. 26, 2014 when she exited her building and slipped on a set of stairs that were slick due to being freshly painted. The plaintiff contends the fresh coat of paint was not readily seen and there were not signs in the area warning of the hazard. Pye asserts that in the incident she fell backwards landing on her buttocks, sustaining bodily injuries to her neck, back and buttocks.
The defendant is accused of negligence.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish, physical suffering and medical expenses.
Pye is represented by attorney Jana Lindner McCaffrey of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
Case no. 747-103.
