GRETNA – A trucking company is suing a local repair shop it claims it gave $10,000 to for repairs that were ultimately unsuccessful and led to an extended period of time during which it was unable to use their semi truck for commerce.
Ronald Evans Trucking LLC filed suit against Crescent Ford Truck Sales Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 25.
Ronald Evans Trucking contends it is the owner of a 2000 Volvo semi truck, which it contracted with Crescent Ford Truck Sales Inc. beginning in August 2014 to make repairs to the vehicle. The plaintiff asserts that for four months after first contracting with the defendant it paid them $10,000 in repairs that were ultimately unsuccessful.
Ronald Evans Trucking claims that due to the failure by Crescent Ford Truck Sales Inc. to repair its truck in a timely manner it lost $37,000 in revenue as the vehicle, which was used for business, was out of service.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract and ineffective repair work.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of income.
