GRETNA – Home Depot is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after stepping on a rusty nail protruding from a pallet.
Tina Correro-Musacchia filed suit against Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 27.
Correro-Musacchia claims she was shopping at a local Home Depot on March 3, 2014 when she stepped onto a wooden pallet that had a rusty nail sticking out of it. The plaintiff alleges after stepping on the nail she fell backwards and twisted her left ankle and foot.
The defendant is accused of not removing the rusty nail from the pallet and partially covering the hazardous pallet.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional stress, medical expenses, loss of earnings and loss of earning capacity.
Correro-Musacchia is represented by attorney Charles W. Dither Jr. of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
