GRETNA – A man is suing his property insurer for allegedly not covering hail damage to two homes he owns.

Jude Orgeron filed suit against Southern Fidelity Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 24.

Orgeron alleges he had property insurance coverage provided by Southern Fidelity Insurance Company for his homes located at 1517 Farrington Drive in Marrero and 5316-18 Cross Creek Drive in Marerro on Feb. 24, 2013 when a hailstorm struck the area. The plaintiff contends his homes received severe damages to their roofs, walls and windows in the storm. However, Orgeron asserts Southern Fidelity Insurance Company failed to properly adjust the damages to his property and failed to provide a proper payment for the damages.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.

Orgeron is represented by Jim S. Hall of Metairie-based Jim S. Hall & Associates.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 747-044.
