GRETNA – A construction company is suing a Metairie couple for allegedly not paying $30,000 for a home elevation job.

Roubion Construction Company LLC filed suit against Bernadine Malone and Roosevelt Malone Jr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 2.

Roubion Construction Company alleges it entered into a contract with the Malones to elevate their home located at 4033 Chicory Place in Harvey. The plaintiff contends the contract was partially funded by a grant funding provided after Hurricane Katrina by the State of Louisiana OCD-Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. However, Roubion Construction Company asserts despite its completion of the home elevation the company is still owed $30,000.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $30,000 plus attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiff.

Roubion Construction Company is represented by Raymond B. Landry of Metairie-based Mollere Flanagan & Landry LLC and attorney Rachel C. Schmidt of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

Case no. 747-258.
