Copeland’s, contractor sued by painting company for alleged non-payment of $18K

GRETNA – A painting company that was allegedly subcontracted to paint a local Copeland’s restaurant is suing claiming it was never paid for its work.

AHL-Interiors LLC filed suit against Copeland’s of New Orleans LLC and Voiron Companies LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 6.

AHL-Interiors alleges it entered into a subcontract with Voiron Companies to provide labor and materials for painting work on a restaurant owned by Copeland’s of New Orleans located at 2333 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey. The plaintiff contends it completed the stipulation of the subcontract, but was never paid by the defendants.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $18,813 is sought by the plaintiff.

AHL-Interiors is represented by Thomas M. McEachin of New Orleans-based Schonekas, Evans, McGoey & Mceachin LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
