GRETNA – A laborer who was working atop a set of scaffolding when a vehicle allegedly ran into it and injured him is suing.
Jacob Myers filed suit against Christopher Geeck, Louisiana Landscape Specialty Inc. and The Continental Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 16.
Myers alleges that on April 23, 2014 he was standing atop scaffolding applying stucco to a building located at the corner of U.S. Highway 90 and N. Columbia St. in Covington. The plaintiff contends Geeck drove a vehicle owned by Louisiana Landscape Specialty Inc. into the scaffolding he was standing on. Myers asserts as a result of the collision he fell and struck his shoulder and body on the scaffold.
The defendant is accused of failing to yield, failing to maintain proper control of the vehicle, reckless and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to maintain reasonable vigilance, failing to see what should gave been seen and failing to do what he should have done.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for personal injury, medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, lost wages, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish and inconvenience.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
