GRETNA – A Metairie homeowner is being sued by a home elevation company that claims she has failed to make payments on a $30,000 loan provided to raise her home.
Levco LLC filed suit against Debra Anderson in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 9.
The plaintiff asserts it entered into a contract with Anderson on Oct. 10, 2011 to elevate her home at 517 Airline Highway in Metairie. Levco claims the total cost of the project was $148,500 of which all but $30,000 was covered by a Road Home grant. The plaintiff alleges Anderson was responsible for reaping the remaining $30,000 and signed a contract to do so in monthly installments of $88.33 until the debt was fully repaid. However, Levco contends that as of Sept. 15, 2014 the defendant had missed 25 payments totaling $3,333.25 and has refused to make any further payments on the debt.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.
Levco LLC is represented by James F. Ryan of Metairie-based Donovan & Lawler.
The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
