Homeowner sued by elevation company for failing to make payments on $30K debt

Shoring

GRETNA – A Marerro homeowner is being sued by a home elevation company that claims she failed to make 19 monthly payments toward a $30,000 debt she owes.

Levco LLC filed suit against Traneca Williams in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 9.

Levco asserts on May 18, 2012 it entered into a contract with Williams for $130,000 to elevate her home located at 1840 Buccola Ave. in Marrero. The plaintiff claims that while the majority of the contract’s cost was covered by a government grant the defendant was responsible for repaying $30,000.

Levco alleges Williams was to repay the $30,000 in monthly payments of $126.48 per month subject to interest at three percent beginning on July 5, 2012 and ending when the balance was fully repaid. However, the plaintiff alleges that as of Sept. 15, 2014, Williams had missed 19 months of payments for which she owed $3,353.12.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $3,353.12 are sought to bring the debt up to date.

Levco is represented by attorney James F. Ryan of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

Case no. 747-545.
