Flag football participant claims league director battered, hurt him during game

GRETNA – A sports facility is being sued by a man who claims he was injured when the flag football league director battered and tried to harm him during a flag football game.

Brandon Salone filed suit against Korey Williams, Playmakers Indoor Sports LLC and Scottsdale Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 27.

Salone alleges he was playing a flag football game at Playmakers Indoor Sports located at 6124 Jefferson Highway in Harahan on March 30, 2014 when he was battered by Williams, the director of the flag football league. The plaintiff contends he was seriously injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of battering the plaintiff with the intent to harm him, negligently striking the plaintiff and failing to properly supervise and train employees.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings, loss of hearing capacity and permanent disability.

Salone is represented by J. Bart Kelly III of New Orleans-based Alvendia, Kelly & Demarest.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
