GRETNA – A personal loan company is suing a customer it claims has failed to make the past 15 loan payments.
Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. filed suit against Russell L. Hill in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 6.
The plaintiff asserts that on Nov. 13, 2014 it entered into a contract to provide Hill with a $3,104 loan payable over a 36 month period at $139 a month. Springleaf claims that Hill made the first few payments on the loan, but has not made a payment since Feb. 12, 2015. The plaintiff alleges it is still owed $2,981.81 at an annual interest rate of 32.41 percent and have sent several requests for payment to Hill who has not responded.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in that amount of $2,981.81 is sought by the plaintiff.
