After boy allegedly run over by car, mother files lawsuit for injuries

GRETNA – The mother of boy is suing claiming he was severely injured when run over by a car.

Diamond McClure, individually and on behalf of her minor son, filed suit against Lisa Marie Petrie and James Lavignette in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 17.

McClure contends her son was walking on Helen Street in Jefferson when he was struck by a vehicle being driven by Petrie, and owned by Lavignette, struck him. The plaintiff asserts her son was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to see what should have been seen, failing to exercise reasonable vigilance, failing to have vehicle under proper control and failing to keep proper control of vehicle.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical expenses.

McClure is represented by attorney Ryan J. Hughes of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

Case no. 748-772.
