Drilling pipe provider sues independent oil company for $177K in goods

Breach of contract

NEW ORLEANS – An independent oil company is being sued by a drilling pipe company for allegedly failing to pay for more than $177,000 of piping materials.

Aztec Pipe Inc. filed suit against Intrepid Drilling in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 1.

Aztec Pipe Inc. claims Intrepid Drilling had an open account on which it purchased several units of drilling pipe and other products worth a combined $177,297.45. The plaintiff alleges it has requested payment from the defendant for the products, but have not received a response.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $177,297.45 pus attorney’s fee is sought by the plaintiff.

Aztec Pipe Inc. is represented by Michael J. Samanie and Stephen S. Stipelcovich of Houma-based Samanie & Stipelcovich.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina H. Woods.

Case no. 2015-04179.
