Alleged on the job injury due to slip and fall results in lawsuit

Workinjury

GRETNA – A woman claiming she was injured after slipping in a water puddle from a leaky air conditioner at work is suing the building’s owner.

Sheyna Joseph filed suit against Boxer Property Management Corporation in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 20.

Joseph contends she was working at Louisiana Primary Care on July 2, 2014 when she slipped in a puddle of water on the floor. The plaintiff asserts an air conditioning unit on the premises was leaking, which caused the puddle to accumulate. Joseph claims she suffered severe injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to protect safety, failing to act reasonably, failing to exercise reasonable care and failing to keep the premises free from hazards.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress, loss of love and affection, loss of consortium and loss of enjoyment of life.

Joseph is represented by Dominick F. Impastato III of New Orleans-based Frischertz Poulliard Frischertz & Impastato.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.

Case no. 749-901.
