GRETNA – A flooring company is being sued by a customer who claims it sold her mismatched tiles that were installed in her home and refused to pay for the job to be redone.

Jeannine Sentilles filed suit against Floor and Wall Distributors Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 21.

Sentilles alleges that on Aug. 7, 2913 she entered into a contract with Floor and Wall Distributors Inc. to purchase Mohawk Porcelain tile to be installed in her home located at 709 Melody Drive in Metairie. The plaintiff contends that shortly after the tiles were installed it became apparent they did not match and needed to be replaced. Sentilles asserts Floor and Wall Distributors Inc. attempted to fix the problem, but were unable to do so.

The plaintiff further claims the defendant finally told her it would be unable to fix the problem and instead offered a small cash settlement even though the entire floor had to be replaced.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for costs of the original tile, additional costs, labor and litigation costs.

Sentilles is represented by attorneys Stephen F. Babin of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.

Case no. 749-924.
