Couple sued by contractor for $51K over fire damage repair

Breach

GRETNA – A contractor is suing a local couple claiming they owe more than $51,000 for repairs made to their fire damaged home.

B&G Construction & Restoration filed suit against Scott Gautreaux, Nicole Gautreaux and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 26.

The plaintiff claims that on Aug. 14, 2014 it was contracted by the Gautreauxes to work on their home located at 1933 Bonnie Ann Drive in Marrero to repair fire damages to the home. B&G Construction & Restoration alleges it completed the work to repair the home worth $141,501.04. However, the plaintiff contends it is still owed $51,948.22.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract and violation of state law.

B&G Construction & Restoration is represented by Stanwood R. Duval of Houma-based Duval Funderburk Sundry Lovell & Watkins.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 751-056.
