GRETNA – A man who claims he provided a personal loan for the rebuilding of another man's home damaged in Hurricane Katrina is suing over alleged non-payment.
Jean Manasian filed suit against Derrick J. Moss Sr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 1.
Manasian claims he loaned $50,000 to Moss in October 2013. The plaintiff alleges the defendant told him his home had been damaged during Hurricane Katrina and that the loan would be used for repairs. The defendant is accused of breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
Damages in the amount of $50,000 is sought by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff is represented by Matt Thomas of New Orleans-based Wolfe Law Group LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
