Loop Linen Service sues restaurant owner for more than $20K for canceling linen service

Larbreach

GRETNA – A linen service is suing a local restaurant and its owner for more than $20,000 after allegedly canceling a linen service contract just months into a five-year contracted period.

Loop Linen Service Inc. filed suit against Dixie Grill and Bobby Patel in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 12.

Loop Linen Service alleges that on June 18, 2014 it entered into a five-year agreement with Dixie Grill and Patel to provide the rental of linen products. However, the plaintiff contends the defendant discontinued the linen service on June 18, 2014 and that under the contract it should have to pay for part of the service as stipulated in the contract. Loop Linen Service contends Dixie Grill and Patel should be responsible for 80 percent of the remaining amount left on the contract, calculated to be $19,491.24.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $20,560.39 is sought by the plaintiff.

Loop Linen Service is represented by Michael S. Futrell of Connick and Connick LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 750-644.
