Bellsouth subsidiary accuses Louisiana Pacific of contract breach

NEW ORLEANS – An Atlanta business is suing Baton Rouge-based Louisiana Pacific, alleging the defendant owes more than $78,000 for services provided.

Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC, doing business as AT&T Louisiana, filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 in U.S. District Court Western District of Louisiana against Louisiana Hearing and Telephone Corp., doing business as Louisiana Pacific, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the parties struck an agreement effective Sept. 8, 2011 whereby AT&T provided Louisiana Pacific with wholesales services. The suit says Louisiana Pacific has failed to pay invoices totaling $71,975.64, plus late charges of $6,157.69.

Bellsouth seeks repayment of the $78,133.33, plus legal fees. It is represented by attorneys David F. Bienvenu and Peter S. Thriffley Jr. of Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn LLCP in New Orleans.
